Marine Geophysics and Hydroacoustics

Methods of Marine Geophysics and Hydroacoustics

The working group 'Marine Geophysics and Hydroacoustics' applies multiple methods, which are complementary to one another and thus allow a comprehensive analysis of a given survey area. Most measuring techniques are very variable and can be used to collect new data on small boats, floating platforms, as well as on the largest German research vessels.

  • Multichannel reflection seismics
  • Hydroacoustics:
    • Multibeam
    • Sediment Echosounder
  • Sediment sampling
  • Multi-Sensor-Core-Logger (MSCL)
